Choose from our famous Beach Hut with its thatched roof, hard sandy floor and chilled island vibes, the inside Brasserie for a sit-down soirée, or the Beer Garden for casual drinks with friends. For something a little less casual, check out our onsite resort, Freedom Shores – the perfect place to tie the knot on your own private beach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there venue hire fees?

There are no venue hire fees for non-exclusive events in the Beach Hut. This means you will only hold a section of the Hut. Venue fees apply if you require exclusive use of the Beach Hut or the Resort Beach Shack & Freedom Shores Lawn

Do you offer food and drink packages?

We currently offer the following options for function catering and beverages:

Order on arrival from our standard menus (food and drinks tabs available)
Pre order catering and/or beverages from our events menus (must be paid 2 weeks in advance)

Is there wheelchair access?

Yes, the inside Brasserie is accessible via a ramp

Can I bring a cake?

You are welcome to bring a cake with you. We can store your cake on arrival and provide plates, cutlery, and a knife on request (no cakeage charge)

Can I bring decorations?

You’re welcome to bring decorations onsite or use an external supplier to decorate your area. Ask our events team for recommended suppliers. Please also advise our team of your plans. Biodegradable glitter or confetti only

How do I book the bus?

To book our free courtesy bus, call 0491 203 807 or book online. Booking in advance is best. For larger groups, we recommend pre-booking a private bus through Heart of Reef Shuttles or calling local taxis.

As of Tuesday May 7^th2024, the courtesy bus will run from 3:30pm to close on Mon – Thu. Buses will run as usual (11:30am to close) on weekends (Fri – Sun), public holidays & school holidays. Rest assured, our priority remains providing exceptional service and ensuring your visit to Northerlies is as enjoyable and hassle-free as possible. See updated bus availability below:

Midweek Mon – Thu | from 3:30pm – close (dinner only)

Weekend Fri – Sun | from 11:30am – close (lunch & dinner)

Where is the Moon Bar?

Our outside Moon Bar is located directly across from the Beach Hut. Just a few steps from your next drink!

Can I book my own entertainment?

Depending on the day and time of the year, live entertainment is already booked in the venue on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If you wish to book your own live entertainment, please make a request, and once approved it can be booked by you, at your own expense. Please be aware that unfortunately, guests cannot use the PA system for speeches during any event at Northerlies. Stopping the music for speeches can disturb the experience of our other patrons

What time do you close?

We usually stay open until around 10pm on weekends. However, it is up to the manager’s discretion to decide when we close the venue. Closing times largely depend on the number of the guests still in the venue at any given time. Staff will endeavour to let you know an expected venue closure time on the day of your function as soon as possible, to ensure everyone has enough time to pack up and catch the courtesy bus home
